What It Is: Accelerated, hands-on training in solar PV installation, electrical connections, advanced troubleshooting, and maintenance—developed with industry experts. 

Who It's For: Red Seal electricians seeking specialized training to advance their expertise in electrical connections and troubleshooting of solar energy systems. 

What Participants Gain: Skills to safely install panels and perform utility-interactive (grid-tied) electrical connections. Expertise in conducting quality checks and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and optimize system performance. 

Career Outcomes: Prepare for roles like Solar PV Systems Specialist or Solar Energy Systems Electrician. 

What's The Cost: Thanks to Upskill Canada (powered by Palette Skills) and the Government of Canada, the program is funded for a limited time. Once accepted, you’ll only pay $200.

Program Structure

  • Online + In-person at 黑料社 Saint John
  • Duration: 85 hours over 7 weeks | Jan 19 to Mar 8, 2026
    • 60 hours online + 25 hours in-person lab
    • In-person dates to be confirmed for Feb & Mar 2026

Certification

When you complete the Solar PV Systems Connections & Maintenance microcredential you’ll earn a digital badge as proof of your achievement. You can share this badge on your resume, LinkedIn profile, e-portfolio, or other digital platforms. Employers will be able to see your skills and know exactly what you’ve learned, as the badge highlights your proven abilities.
